Chlamydia is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis and transmitted primarily through sexual intercourse without the use of condoms.

Treatment for chlamydia usually uses antibiotics, which can kill the Chlamydia trachomatis bacteria. The most common and effective drug for the treatment of chlamydia is azithromycin. Other antibiotics such as doxycycline and erythromycin may also be used.

The duration of treatment and dosage of antibiotics may vary depending on the severity of the infection, the individual patient and the doctor’s recommendations.
